The Cuban and Latino background of Laura Mazon Franqui has a great influence in her musical endeavors, as she  embraces her Hispanic Heritage as the way she interprets music She is also inspired by women empowerment, venturing into a rather uncharted territory for women – as it is a reality that the guitar world has been , by large, a male dominated world-and not only Laura Mazon Franqui wants to change the status quo, she wants to change the precepts on female guitarists, that they are just as good as their male counterpart thus deserve not only recognition and acknowledgment but also fandom.
