Zeta Tau Sigma’s very own non-profit arm, the Mighty Rose Foundation, officially recognized as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to provide scholarship and community outreach efforts

After years of diligent work and support from a team of dedicated sorors, a dream became a reality when the Mighty Rose Foundation was officially recognized as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in May 2019. The Mighty Rose Foundation was founded in 2018 with the primary goal of promoting social, civic, cultural, economic, and educational progress for families and communities in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The foundation provides scholarship aid to deserving Prince George’s County residents of all backgrounds through conducting educational programs, workshops, symposiums, and forums. The foundation aims to ultimately enhance the quality of life in Prince George’s County and surrounding communities.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was organized on the campus of Butler University on November 12, 1922 with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and across the globe. The organization aims to achieve greater progress in the areas of education, health awareness, and leadership development through community service, civic engagement, and social action.

Over the years, the Sorority has established different foundations aligned with its pursuit of seeing a world in which all women and their families reach their full potential in all aspects of life. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is, and has been, creating unlimited opportunities for future generations. National Education Fund (NEF), SPEAR (Sigma Public Education and Research Foundation), and Seven Pearls Foundation, are the foundations currently run by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

The Prince George’s County chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Zeta Tau Sigma alumnae chapter, was chartered on March 26, 1983 to provide positive and proactive community leadership and support whenever and wherever needed as indicated by the sorority’s international slogan, “Greater Service, Greater Progress.” Zeta Tau Sigma currently advises two undergraduate chapters at Bowie State University and the University of Maryland – College Park, as well as three affiliate groups for young women and friends of the sorority. The Mighty Rose Foundation is the latest addition to the Zeta Tau Sigma family, staying true to the organization’s core values of sisterhood, honesty, respect, and accountability.

About The Mighty Rose Foundation

The Mighty Rose Foundation is a non-profit organization founded as an extension of the Zeta Tau Sigma (Prince George’s County) alumnae chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. The goal of the non-profit is to spearhead the chapter’s scholarship and community outreach efforts.

The foundation will provide scholarship aid to deserving Prince George’s County residents of all backgrounds and conduct educational programs, workshops, symposiums, and forums that enhance the quality of life in Prince George’s County and surrounding communities.
