Recently, a blood-pumping summit competition played out on China’s much-anticipated brain competition variety show Super Brain 11. Prior to this, our 13-year-old memory player Naga Anumita Guddanti represented India on China’s highest intellectual competition stage for the first time, against China’s memory master Guo Feirong. Faced with the “hell-level” challenges of memorizing 908 playing cards in one hour, she showed amazing coping ability and took the lead in submitting her answers to get three points, which amazed the audience.

It is understood that Super Brain is a Chinese scientific competition reality show, aimed at spreading the knowledge of brain science and brain power competition. The program selected a group of Chinese team talent with extraordinary memory, logical thinking and rapid reaction ability, to face the top brainpower elite from the world. In the international advance round of Super Brain 11, our 13-year-old memory prodigy Naga Anumita Guddanti represented India in the competition. This is also the first brain battle between Indian and Chinese contestants in this program, which attracted the attention of many viewers around the world.

Despite her young age, Anumita is an “all-rounder” in the memory challenge, specializing in memorizing cards, cards, numbers and abstract shapes, and has previously won the second place in the youth division of the 2023 National Memory Championship. Guo Feirong, as a rising “memory star” on the Chinese team, has overcome eleven memory masters in the previous competition and become a dark horse to compete in the International Advance Match. Her strength is also not to be underestimated. Therefore, the duel between the two is highly anticipated.

In the “Infinite Poker” program, the contestants faced an unprecedented challenge. They are required to memorize memorize the numbers and coordinates of 908 poker within an hour, and find the four sets of poker that have been randomly switched on the four poker walls. The difficulty of the program lies in the number to be memorized – equivalent to 17 pairs of half poker, which is far more than the world’s memory masters need to memorize 14 pairs of poker in one hour; on the other hand, it lies in the two latitudes of memory requirements, the order of the poker and the coordinates. This not only requires players to have extraordinary memory ability, but also excellent spatial perception and insight ability, which is a double test of brain capacity and endurance.

In the competition, Anumita quickly got into the state and took the lead in locking the first set of answers. Guo Feirong followed closely behind, and the atmosphere was tense and anxious as they faced each other. Although Anumita is young, she showed the style of a great general, making a decisive decision when facing the boundary of her ability and pressing the submit button to grasp the time advantage. However, Guo Feirong adopted a prudent strategy and eventually found all four sets of answers successfully, winning the game with a higher accuracy rate.

Although Anumita didn’t win the competiton, she demonstrated the bravery, perseverance and self-confidence of the young generation of India. 13-year-old Anumita stepped into a foreign arena on her own to face the formidable rivals who had gone through a series of selections. She had no fear in the competition and showed her excellent memory ability, leaving a deep impression on the Chinese audience. She won applause and praise for herself and her country. A Chinese contestant said that Anumisha is very powerful, and that she has unlimited potential and room for improvement.

Brain competition transcends borders. Anumita’s stunning performance on Super Brain will undoubtedly ignite our nation’s interest in this scientific competition. We also look forward to witnessing more talented contestants stepping up to the international stage, showing the world India’s wisdom, which will not only promote cultural and intellectual exchanges between India and China, deepen mutual understanding and friendship, but also inspire more young people to devote themselves to the challenge of brain power. Anumita has set a good example for us, and we believe that there will be more outstanding talents to engage in brainpower competition, and write a brilliant chapter of scientific development together.
